http://diamondxdust.buzznet.com/user/journal/1716191/prejudice-frustration/Read that. Ahh. Now on a lighter note. I went icon-making crazy again today. Thats right, more Atilla icons. Excited, aren't you? I have lots more. But some of them aren't supported by buzznet, so unfortunately it won't let me show them to you. =(

I'm pretty pissed off today. All due to my father, and the rest of the southern United States. We've been arguing a lot recentely(big surprise), and his ignorance surprises me. Don't get me wrong, I love my father. But, some of his beliefs really make me realize whats wrong with the world today.
I notice a theme in the south. Its quite a trend. Its called prejudice and discrimination. Almost everyone here is one of the following - racist, sexist, or homophobic. Most of the time they're all three. I'm tired of the 'being gay is wrong because its not the Christian way'. I say screw that. And the 'man is head of the house, because the bible says so.' No fucking way. And why is any race that is not your own suddenly not good enough for you? Intteracial love is NOT smiled upon in most the state of Arkansas.
Who the hell are you to tell someone they're not aloud to marry the person they love? I'm so tired of hearing, 'Its not right. Man is made for woman, and woman for man.' What if man doesn't want woman? Being gay is not something you can control. Its not like you tell yourself 'I'm going to be really turned off by the opposite sex, and only want to be with someone of my own gender.' Thats not the way it works. Just like straight people don't tell themselves that they're not going to be gay. Its not a choice. Its just who you are. Kind of like how one person will like the way sushi tastes, and others will hate it. Your taste buds say 'bleh', or 'yum'. Only in this case, your gender buds are doing the talking. Classifying someone by sexual preference is the biggest load of shit I've ever heard. 'Oh, he's gay? I hate him.' What the hell is wrong with you? Get over it. Its not like they're affecting you by liking the same sex. They don't have anything to do with you. If you're not gay, thats fine. Just don't discriminate because others aren't the exact same as you. The world would be a pretty damn boring place if it wasn't so diverse.
And sexism. Man is not greater than woman. Just as woman is not greater than man. If I ever get married, I will NOT let my husband think he owns the house, me, the kids, the pets, etc. It will be a co-ownership. There won't be any of that 'before we can do anything we have to ask your father' crap. I'm so tired of hearing that. Man does not control me.
Now racism. Just because someones skin is a different color than yours, does not make them so much different than you. Yes, they come from different places and believe different things. Yes, their culture is different. But thats what makes the world beautiful.
You want to throw around this 'all men are created equal' crap. Yet most of you don't believe it yourselves.
Diversity is beautiful. Embrace it.

Is anyone else finding themselves highly confused by buzznets new layout? This dashboard thing is neat, I guess. But it took me a bit to decipher it. When I woke up this morning, I did not expect this to be what was awaiting me on the fabulous world of buzznet. Anyway. Its still weird. I can't decide if I like it yet or not. I'll have to get used to it, I guess.
Hmm. Kind of bored today. Started homeschooling again this week. On Tuesday. I went to the orthodontist on Monday, and I should be getting my braces off pretty soon. In 3 to 6 weeks, I do believe. I'm pretty excited about it. =) I'm tired of smiling, and getting my lip caught. Or worrying about getting food trapped in them, or under my mouth brace. and my lips are constantly chapped, it seems like. Not that great of a quality, I know. I have to apply lip gloss about every 10 minutes. Of course, I do look adorable with them, though. Ahah. Looking like a dork works for me. I'm not excited about getting a retainer, though. Having to pull it out of my mouth in the middle of a resteraunt, before I can eat, is NOT going to be attractive. I can't wait for spit to get all over my hands, and the table. Yucky. >=o
I've started re-reading Eclipse the last few days. I never want to put this book down. The day that I got it(at 9 a.m. the day it was released), I read the whole thing within 24 hours. Then I read it over again about 3 times after that. I'm addicted to it. I'm about to buy the bracelet for 65 dollars. So worth it.
I'm sitting here listening to Kill Hannah, and making Atilla icons. =) Shes so pretty. And I decided I'd write in this thing again. Because I probably don't do it often enough. Hmm. Photobucket is being stupid. Its not wanting to accept my images. I hate it.
Look at some of the pretty images its wanting to be mean about.

There are bunches more of them, too. I have like 65 of them. And I want to make more. Its kind of my latest hobby. Or obsession. Anyway. I'm off to shower. And then maybe make more of these.

I FINALLY got to go and see Sweeney Todd today. I will start by saying. WOW.
Johnny Depp is, of course, an amazing actor. Always has been. Always will be. I felt like his role as Sweeney Todd was one of his more powerful performances. He had the kind of cryptic thing from Edward Scissorhands going on, combined with some mannerisms that he adopted in his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. I feel like since playing Captain Jack, he has carried over parts of the character with him. Jack has truly become a part of him, as he was a part of Jack. Like, the snarling lip that he does. That was such a Jack trait. Facial expressions, and the way he says some things. Even though Sweeney Todd was nothing like Pirates of the Caribbean, you see a little Jack in there in certain aspects of his character.
Johnny Depp is also an amazing singer. He has that cryptic kind of tone to his voice, that really works in this movie. He played the role so well. Everything he said, every expression on his face, every movement he made. It all looked so bitter. You could feel the anger and resentment rolling off of him. (You know what I mean.) It truly amazes me. The way he embodies his characters, is truly impressive. Hats off to you, Mr.Depp.
Now, shall I move on to Mrs.Lovett?

Helena Bonham Carter is utterly breathtaking. She is gorgeous, and I am jealous. Let me start by saying. I want her wardrobe from this movie. The beautiful dresses and corsets. They just don't make them like that anymore. And I really wish they did. She is an amazing actress. And, some people may not agree with me. And they may hate me for this. But, I personally loved her more than Sweeney Todd in this movie..She was my favorite part of the entire thing.
Who would have ever guessed that she could not sing before this movie? If I wouldn't have watched the making of the movie special, and read her interviews, where she revealed that she had to have voice lessons for her role, I would have never known. Honestly. Absolutely beautiful voice.
I love her as Bellatrix Lestrange, and I love her as Mrs.Lovett. Neither one of the movies could have picked a better person for the roles.
I won't reveal too much, for the sake of the ones who have not seen it. Although, I could write a 10 page report on all the highlights of the movie(sadly, I do have enough free time.) But, I won't. I leave you with a 'Go see Sweeney Todd. You won't be disappointed.'
(I don't recommend it if you are extremely squeemish, though. The blood does not look real at all. But, there is a LOT of it. It may not be the best idea for people with weak stomachs. Or kids. Do NOT take your children. Not a good idea.)
